Students with Disabilities
Fulton-Montgomery Community College is committed to providing reasonable accommodations, including core services, to qualified students with disabilities.
See http://www.fmcc.edu/admissions/students-with-disabilities/ for further details.

Please Note: Attendance is mandatory (for in-person and synchronous classes)! There is a direct correlation between attendance and learning. Modules open and close on schedule. Classes meet as scheduled. Classes are rarely canceled and every attempt will be made for a substitute if appropriate. Students will receive an email in the unlikely event of an unscheduled cancellation.
Academic Integrity Policy
Academic integrity refers to a code of values that support and direct the education process. This code is based on legal, ethical, and educational concerns. Education in large part consists of the acquisition and demonstration of knowledge according to acceptable standards. Students must be familiar with these standards and will be held accountable for their use. Not being familiar with these standards is not an excuse for their breach.

See http://www.fmcc.edu/academics/programs/academic-integrity-policy/ for further details.
The Writing Center is an academic center, located in FM’s Learning Commons (Evans Library, first floor), where students can develop their college writing skills. Students may work with peer and professional tutors on any phase of the writing process: brainstorming a topic, preparing an outline, drafting and revising, and using specific documentation styles, like MLA, APA, and Chicago. Tutors will not edit students’ writing, but they will help students to identify their surface errors and/or consistent patterns in their own writing. Tutors are available to review grammar and citation rules and to guide students in their own writing processes.

The Writing Center is a drop-in tutoring center, staffed in person 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. on Monday – Friday for in-person tutoring; however, appointments are also available for remote tutoring via Microsoft Teams. Contact Colleen Sanders, Writing Center coordinator at colleen.sanders@fmcc.edu for more information.

In the Math Lab, located on the second floor of the Evans Library, assistance is available to students who are taking math or math-related courses. The Math Lab hours are Mondays-Thursdays 9:00am – 5:00pm and Fridays 9:00 am – 3:00pm. Contact Bill Lomanto, Math lab coordinator at william.lomanto@fmcc.edu .

In addition to Writing Center and Math lab tutoring, we also offer free in person or virtual tutoring in various subjects as well as overall academic coaching to help students build their skills and stay on task. Schedules for tutors and academic coaches is available in the My Appointment link found in Blackboard or MY FM Student Resources. The short video How to Schedule a Tutoring Session shows you how to schedule appointments.
Campus Civility Statement:
FM is committed to fostering an environment of civility. All members of the FM community and visitors have the right to experience and the responsibility to create and maintain an environment of mutual respect and support that is civil in all aspects of human relations. Civility facilitates professional growth and achievement and promotes an environment where each person can reach his or her full potential.
In the event of a school closing or class cancellation, I will email the class as soon as possible with updates and further directions.

I will email students via Blackboard. School closings will not impact the work due for the semester. Students will still be responsible for all assigned classwork.

Grades will be recorded in Blackboard. However, your cumulative grade in Blackboard may not reflect your actual cumulative grade because Blackboard only calculates grades based on the work you do. If you miss an assignment you will receive a zero, but Blackboard will ignore that in the calculation for purposes of calculating the cumulative grade. (I will not ignore it, though)
